X-rated movies always tend to attract more of a male than a female audience. A few theaters in Rio feature adult movies, and some of them are quite popular with gay men. The films shown are straight, usually of very low quality, and newspapers don't even bother publishing what is on. Double features are the order of the day.

If you are looking for mainstream movie theaters, you are at the wrong page. Most of these theaters  are old, and could use a full renovation job yesterday. Do not expect  usual amenities such as air conditioning, a decent candy bar, or fresh popcorn. Please read carefully and apply our safety rules, and keep an eye for pickpockets.

On cable TV there is one channel named For Men that plays gay adult movies 24x7, but chances are it is not available at your hotel. It is offered by NET, a major cable network.
